the Trekker Pro GTX was designed for day trips with varied terrain. According to AKU, the Trekker Pro GTX is an evolution of the brand’s Trekker Lite II model, and the Tengu Lite model inspired its form.
This boot features waterproof GORE-TEX built-in throughout and a suede and Air 8000 upper – which the brand says is “11.5 times more breathable than conventionally made fabric” – with a film PU welded.
The brand has designed its Custom Fit Insole, and incorporates a Vibram Turmeric sole, for more comfort and stability. AKU intends the Trekker Pro GTX for backpacking or long mountain hikes.

For over 40 years, AKU’s mission has been to create the highest quality outdoor footwear available. Based in Montebelluna, Italy – a vital region for the Italian outdoor footwear industry – AKU is dedicated to creating the best boots and shoes.
The brand sees it as its responsibility to shorten the supply chain. According to AKU, it “concentrates 85% of its production in company-owned facilities in Italy and Romania” in order to reduce the negative environmental impacts linked to carbon emissions created by transport.
AKU also aims to provide transparency to its customers. The brand claims that the sources of 100% of its components, including “raw material and semi-finished parts”, are traceable.
