NAPLES, Florida – Beloved husband, father and grandfather Robert M. Chambers of Naples, Florida has passed away at the age of 85. Born and raised in St. John, New Brunswick, he was an Air Cadet pilot in high school and was the first in his family to attend university. He was a proud alumnus of the University of New Brunswick, where he was a passionate volunteer throughout his life and a term as president of his alumni association. Bob married his wife, Carol Kervin, in 1960. They began their life together in Saint John, but soon made the bold decision to emigrate to Maine, where he began his accounting career with Ernst and Ernst in Portland. and got his CPA. Bob bought a struggling Ford dealership in Augusta in 1972. He was a natural entrepreneur, eventually owning nine auto franchises in Maine and New Hampshire, the largest distributor of aftermarket body parts in northern New Hampshire. England and Budget Rental Car locations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Bob and Carol raised their two children in Augusta, and Carol then returned to nursing at Augusta General Hospital. Bob and Carol were active members of the Green Street Methodist Church in Augusta. Always involved in the community, Bob has volunteered and served on numerous boards and nonprofits. Bob enjoyed cycling trips, playing golf with friends, and traveling a lot with his wife and family. He took a keen interest in his Irish heritage and devoted time to genealogy and traveling to Northern Ireland, where he developed long-term relationships with his cousins ​​Chambers. Although proud of the businesses he built, Bob’s greatest joy was his four granddaughters, Evelyn and Grace. Chambers, and Kathryn “Kali” and Anya Brown. He and Carol were very proud and thrilled to be with them in their Maine home, to share stories from their childhood in Canada, to travel a lot with them, to support their academic and athletic endeavors and to be with them for many years. ‘countless vacations to Naples, where Bob and Carol have made their retirement home. Besides his wife, Carol, he is survived by his daughter, Wendy Chambers Brown and her husband Win of Westford, Mass .; his son, David of Portland; her four wonderful granddaughters, Evelyn and Grace Chambers of Hanover, NH, and Kali and Anya Brown of Westford, Mass. ; daughter-in-law, Sloane Mayor of Hanover, NH; and wonderful Canadian and Irish cousins ​​he loved and cherished. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
