Sheriff’s Office Searching for Missing Person near Hogback Mountain | News, Sports, Jobs



TOWNSHIP OF MARQUETTE – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a missing person in the Hogback Mountain area.

According to a press release, the sheriff’s office received a missing person complaint for Aaron Royal McGeorge, 40, of Marquette Township. McGeorge is believed to have left her home between 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Monday in a 2011 red Ford F-150 pickup, police said.

At around 8 a.m. Tuesday, McGeorge’s van was located along County Road 550 near Hogback Mountain. Police said he allegedly hiked the area where the truck was located.

A search was underway for McGeorge on Tuesday afternoon. Marquette County Search and Rescue are using tracking dogs in the search and asking the public to avoid the area around Hogback Mountain to avoid odor contamination.

McGeorge is pictured at 5-foor-9, 165 pounds with short or shaved dark hair, brown eyes, and typically wears a baseball cap. He has a thin mustache with extra facial hair under his lower lip. It is not known what clothes McGeorge was wearing at the time he went missing, police said.
