This past summer, next-level wellness arrived on the East Coast. While Miraval, an Arizona import, arrived during the global pandemic, the Berkshires-based resort designed much of its programming with the impacts of the COVID era in mind. Think: activities that encourage reconnection, grounding, relaxation and relaxation.
Vic Cappadona, Managing Director of Miraval Berkshires, spoke with City Country about one of the hottest hotel openings of 2020.
What do you consider to be the “best” room at Miraval Berkshires?
The best rooms at the Miraval Berkshires are our King or Double Queen suites, which feature a separate common living room. It also includes all the amenities you would expect from Miraval rooms, including our signature bedding to enhance sleep, Tibetan singing bowls, stackable stones and meditation pillows for mindful moments, as well as items from luxury handcrafted toilet. Each room is inspired by New England country glamor and features fall-inspired color palettes with cozy throws, wools, and cozy throws that are perfectly comforting.
How much does it start at night?
Our Miraval King Suite starts at $ 909 per person.
How does Miraval think about well-being in the era of COVID?
Miraval’s goal is to help our clients live balanced lives, and this is a mission that has grown stronger in the face of the pandemic. Many clients have told us that they need Miraval during this time as they need to cope with stress and find a foundation during such a trying time. In response, much of our programming has been adjusted to focus on emotional well-being and healing. For example, we created a workshop where guests interact with injured birds of prey and learn their rehabilitation process, so guests can learn about the power of adaptation and perseverance. Another activity we created with the pandemic in mind is “High Wild Woosey,” a Challenge Course activity where two guests have to communicate and rely on each other to move along a 25-foot cable. high. Many guests have told us that quarantining with family, friends and romantic partners has ironically deteriorated effective communication. We wanted to expand our outdoor activities not only to bring our customers closer to nature, but also to help them solve problems that may have arisen as a result of the pandemic and allow them to live more mindfully.
The hotel is located next to Wyndhurst. Can you tell us a bit about the relationship between the two properties?
The Wyndhurst Manor & Club is a hotel that celebrates the rich history and culture of the Berkshires. With golden age architecture and an award-winning 18-hole golf course, two restaurants and a state-of-the-art health club with indoor pool, it is ideal for families, couples and business travelers alike. looking for a country getaway. Since Miraval is an adults-only resort, we believe both properties provide complementary experiences for guests who want two distinct travel experiences close to each other. Guests with children can stay at the Wyndhurst Manor and purchase day passes to rejuvenate at Miraval, while guests of Miraval can choose to dine at the restaurants at Wyndhurst Manor a short walk away.
Why did Miraval choose the Berkshires for their first destination on the east coast?
The Berkshires are a renowned wellness destination, and we thought our programming would be perfect for the community. Many of our guests who have visited other Miraval locations in Tucson and Austin also live in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, and opening up in the Berkshires has allowed us to meet these loyal customers wherever they are.
How would you spend your perfect day at Miraval?
I would start my perfect day at Miraval Berkshires with a to-go breakfast at Roost and then set out for a morning hike through the beautiful Berkshires trails. After that, I would rejuvenate with lunch at Harvest Moon, where we create many of our dishes using seasonal ingredients from our on-site farm. After that, I would engage in other activities. A few of my favorites include “An Unforgettable Canvas”, a course where guests communicate and paint with a horse, and “Beekeeping,” where guests explore the on-site apiary. Chinese Astrology sessions are also extremely popular with people who want to discover their spiritual gifts or have a relational reading based on the Chinese calendar. Of course, no visit to Miraval is complete without a trip to the Life in Balance spa, and the one at Miraval Berkshires is the largest Miraval spa to date at 29,000 square feet. Some of my favorite treatments, like “Body in Balance” and “Manuka Honey Quench. To end my evening on the perfect note, I would order the chef’s tasting menu in our Culinary Life in Balance Kitchen, which is a six-course dining experience that changes based on the day’s freshest ingredients.
