I often try local travel agencies when I’m in Paris that organize guided tours of museums and other excursions, but on my last trip in the fall I had the pleasure of using the best at this day : Sacrebleu Paris.
Owned and managed by the effervescent and incredibly well-connected Stephanie Boutet-Fajol, it offers experiences in Paris that appeal to both first-time visitors and hardcore returning travelers like me.
It’s no wonder the city’s top hotels – JK Place Paris and Plaza Athenee among them – turn to her to book tours for their clients.
Boutet-Fajol’s bestsellers include a bread and chocolate walking tour in Saint Germain des Prés with a renowned chef, a private cruise on the Seine with champagne and nibbles that the boat captain’s wife personally prepares and a course kitchen at the Ritz. Then there are his legendary sidecar tours of Montmarte which are an absolute delight for anyone of any age and offer a unique perspective on the charming neighborhood and the Jay Z and Beyonce tour of the Louvre where you can see where the duo filmed their famous “Monkeys”. **t music video. Get this: Boutet-Fajol can even take you inside the world’s largest museum after hours – for the right price, of course.
Just outside of town, Boutet-Fajol can arrange a visit to Versailles to see the private apartment of the kings and a golf cart ride to Marie Antoinette’s estate.
I am a complete art lover and had the most privileged art experiences during my visit thanks to her art historian guide Anne. Among them: a visit to the galleries of the Left Bank and the Marais, meetings with local artists or visits to their homes.
Diane Sherer, travel consultant and founder of Beyond, describes Sacrebleu Paris as a “pearl”. “What makes Stéphanie unique is that she was born and raised in Paris. She’s a real Parisian and that comes with a ton of knowledge, insider tips and connections,” she says.
Another agent, Cara Kobzeff, of TravelStore, which caters to the most discerning clientele, also lavished praise. “Stephanie can literally do last-minute magic,” she says. “An example would be to privatize the Louvre for a family, I contacted them late at night when my clients were leaving the United States and by the time they landed we had privatized the Louvre that evening for them, c was absolutely amazing and opulent and made me look like a rock star!
Kobzeff says his favorite Sacrebleu tours are exclusively the Louvre after hours, accessing private spaces within the Palace of Versailles and private cooking classes ranging from fine dining to baking. In addition to the tours themselves, the company has the memories captured by a professional photographer so no one has to worry about taking iPhone selfies and photos and can be fully present and enjoying the experience instead.
Let Sacrebleu take you to Paris and show you the magical city at its best. Like me, you’ll be glad you did. For my part, I can tell you that I will definitely return to Boutet-Fajol again and again.
