West Brom boss Sam Allardyce is delighted with what he saw from loaned Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Allardyce thinks it’s important to remember that Maitland-Niles has spent much of his career playing defense.
And he says he will become more clinical as he plays in midfield.
“Ainsley’s game is starting to get better and better,” said the boss. saw it as his position.
“Because he almost always played in this position for many years and doesn’t play where he wanted to play, other clubs have only ever seen him back and I think even England have him there. played.
“He wants to play in midfield for us, he has the energy to do it and he has great ability with both feet.
“There must be a better quality of finish at home.
“Like any attacking midfielder who plays box to box, he has to provide assists and score goals – that’s what he needs to keep working.
“But because he doesn’t play in midfield often enough, it’s something that will hopefully come to him quickly.
“I’m very happy with his game overall, I hope he gets a little better.
“He will continue to play in midfield for us.
“I think the only way for him to play at the back would be with back injuries and suspensions.”
